We love volunteer groups! Pull together your friends, family or coworkers and have fun making a difference. Generally, we consider a volunteer group to be 3 or more volunteers on one volunteer day.
By volunteering with Macomb Habitat, you can be a part of the change you want to see in your community. We offer opportunities to build or repair homes with our partner families, in addition to volunteer opportunities at our local Habitat Stores, at our events, and in our offices. Invite your friends and family to join us!
You can help local families in need of safe, affordable housing in a number of ways- on or off our construction sites!
Most large volunteer groups choose to volunteer on our home builds or critical home repair sites. Tasks may include framing, roofing, drywall installation, siding, painting, building sheds, trim work, minor repairs, and more.
RegisterFlexible volunteer positions are available every Tuesday through Saturday in a variety of roles to help keep the ReStore running smoothly. Opportunities include cashiering, decorating, picking up donations and processing donations.
Our ReStore can accommodate large groups with a location in Shelby Township.

Depending on the date(s) you volunteer and the scope of your project, we ask groups to bring anywhere between 10 – 18 volunteers, depending on the site and season. Contact Lori Spooner for more details at lspooner@macombhabitat.org.
No. We welcome all levels of skill and experience! All necessary training is provided on-site by a Habitat staff member (Site Supervisor). If your group does have one or more skilled volunteers, consider asking them to be crew leaders.
Please check our Volunteer Calendar for availability or contact Lori Spooner for future opportunities.
Your group must designate a primary contact to communicate with us before the build, and an On-Site Coordinator who will be on site during the build. The On-Site Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Site Supervisor and volunteers – good communication is essential. Your group may also recruit Crew Leaders who will supervisor groups of 4-5 volunteers on site. Additional information will be provided upon confirmation.
Many groups do choose to donate towards the building materials and staff required for your team-building event. It is not mandatory, but most helpful at any level of donation!
