Macomb - Safety Docs

At Macomb County Habitat for Humanity we take the safety of our employees and volunteers very seriously. The safety of our volunteers and our employees is our number one priority. At MCHFH we take many precautions to ensure job site safety. Below are some precautions and measures that we take in order to provide safety for all workers on the build sites:

  • Every morning the build site leaders inform all volunteers of the safety procedures on the build site.

  • A first-aid kit is available at each build site where volunteers are present.

  • All MCHFH employees and volunteers will wear safety glasses and hard hats while on the build site. These items are provided by MCHFH.

  • Gloves are available to all volunteers in order to prevent cuts or splinter injuries.

  • Only Type 1A fiberglass ladders are used on site. They have a load capacity of 300lbs and are recommended for heavy duty use.

  • Power tools are to be operated only by experienced volunteers or MCHFH employees.  MCHFH employees may request volunteers to demonstrate their skills in order to ensure their safety.  MCHFH employees will provide demonstration and instruction on the safe operation of any power tool.
